'Tales of Hoffmann' on celluloid

A 1951 film version of Offenbach's opera "The Tales of Hoffmann" will be screened on July 10 in Tokyo.

This 124-min. color movie directed by Michael Powell stars Robert Rounseville as Hoffmann, and also features Robert Helpmann and Moira Shearer.

The screenings will begin at 10:30 a.m. and 1:30 p.m. at Ginza Blossom Hall (Chuo Kaikan).

Tickets are 1,700 yen in advance, and 2,000 yen at the door. Preschoolers not allowed. For tickets, call 047-389-9077.

Ginza Blossom Hall is one minute from Exit 1 of Shintomi-cho Station on the Yurakucho Line.
