Guided tour of underground art

Public Art Forum, a private institution, will hold a one-day tour to look at public art at stations on the Oedo subway line April 25. Participants are asked to gather near the ticket-wicket of Higashi Shinjuku Station at 10:50 a.m.

Using one-day subway passes, participants will visit 12 stations, including Iidabashi, Ryogoku, Shiodome, Daimon, Roppongi and Yoyogi. Makoto Ishimura, a metropolitan subway construction official, will give a talk in Japanese on the artworks at each station.

Anyone interested should call Mr. Sokichi Sugimura at (03) 3409-9132 by April 19 or send a fax to (03) 3407-5247, titled "April 25 Oedo Subway Line Visit" and stating your name (with furigana),address, sex, occupation, telephone and fax numbers, and e-mail address.

The participation fee is 3,500 yen, which does not include the cost of the pass and lunch.
