Music of Bach, in all its glory

There will be a lecture and music performance under the theme of "Music of Resurrection -- History of Oratorios and Cantatas" on April 13 at Tokyo Opera City.

As part of the NEC Early Music Lecture series, Masaaki Suzuki, musical director and conductor of Bach Collegium Japan, will speak and four vocalists from the group will perform.

Bach Collegium Japan is an orchestra and chorus formed in 1990. Using original instruments, it specializes in music from the Baroque period, especially Bach's music.

The event will start at 7 p.m. at the recital hall of Tokyo Opera City. Tickets are 2,500 yen for adults and 1,000 yen for students. For tickets, call the Bach Collegium Japan office at (03) 3226-5333 or Tokyo Opera City Ticket Center at (03) 5353-9999.

Tokyo Opera City is connected with Hatsudai Station, on the Keio Shinsen Line.
