Punchline set to yuk it up in Tokyo

There are laughs in store for Tokyo when the Punchline Comedy Club returns this month with two more top-class comedians.

Paul Zerdin, a ventriloquist well-known to U.K. TV audiences who will soon star in his own TV show, has also performed in the Royal Variety show for the queen. "Paul is a nice guy," according to The Observer, "but his puppets are sharp-tongued little bastards; avoid the front row, especially if you're ugly!"

Paul Thorne, a regular at The Comedy Store in London who has traveled the world doing stand-up, will be making his first appearance in Japan.

The Punchline Comedy Club performs Oct. 16 and 17 at Pizza Express Harajuku, 3F, 4-30-3 Jungumae, Shibuya-ku. For tickets and information, call (03) 5775-3894 or see www.punchlinecomedy.com
