Japanese dance lessons in English
The Nihon Buyo Foundation is offering English-language classical Japanese dance lessons to 10 people in Tokyo beginning in September.
The dance lessons will be taught by NBF Director Nishikawa Minosuke V on Sept. 14 and 28, Oct. 19, and Nov. 9, 16 and 30 (1-2:30 p.m. for beginners and 3-4:30 p.m. for intermediate students). The fee is 18,000 yen for all six lessons.
The lessons will take place at Nishikawa School of Nihon Buyo, 8-12 Ichigayadaimachi, Shinjuku-ku. The school is a five-minute walk from Akebonobashi subway station,
Students must wear kimono or yukata (summer kimono), obi (kimono sash), nagajuban (Japanese-style undershirt), a long petticoat or knee-length spats, and tabi (Japanese socks) to participate in the lessons.
