'Chain Effect' reprise invitations

Free tickets are being offered to a contemporary dance performance to be held by Kaleidoscope in Tokyo in August.

The Tokyo-based dance company will present "Chain Effect," which was performed four times last summer to packed houses at Aoyama Spiral Hall. Kazuyuki Futami and Chisato Taho will be the leading dancers.

Futami, says dance critic Takao Norikoshi, creates tension with his high-speed movement, while Taho is capable of sudden, explosive expressions that burst from a dignified quietness evocative of the surface of still water.

"Chain Effect" will be performed Aug. 7-8 at Kitazawa Town Hall, near the South Exit of Shimokitazawa Station on the Odakyu and Keio-Inokashira lines. The show starts at 7:30 p.m. Aug. 7, and 4 p.m. and 7:30 p.m. on Aug. 8.

Two pairs of tickets will be given away for each show.

Those interested should send a postcard addressed to Chain Effect, Gakugei-bu, The Japan Times, Shibaura 4-5-4, Minato-ku, Tokyo 108-8071. The card must arrive by July 3.

The card must include name, address (including zip code) and the date and time of the desired performance. The hall's telephone number is (03) 5478-8006.
