Thursday, May 19, 2011 IN THE RECORD BAG
EccyBy MIKE SUNDA
Special to The Japan Times
Coming off the release of his "Flavor of Vice" EP on Slye Records last month, Eccy gives The Japan Times a peek into his record bag.
Golden Oldie: Nirvana — "Lithium" (Geffen). I really do love this song, and the lyrics are great. Although my favorite Nirvana album is "In Utero," as far as songs go it's "Lithium." New Classic: Hudson Mohawke "Fuse" (Warp). I love the main melody—no matter how many times I listen to it, it never gets old. Floor-filler: Major Lazer "Pon De Floor" (Downtown). Both the song and the video are crazy. If this gets dropped in a club everyone dances. Must-listen: Jacques Greene "Another Girl" (LuckyMe). Greene's releases are definite must-listens. They're danceable and so beautiful you'll get totally lost in them. Eccy plays Diesel:U:Music's first free monthly party at Seco Bar on May 20 with dirtybird's J. Phlip.
