Friday, April 15, 2011 IN THE RECORD BAG
AltzBy MARK JARNES
Staff writer
A leading name on the local music indie circuit — having played Spring Love, SonarSound and Nagisa Music Festival in Tokyo earlier this month — DJ, producer and label owner Altz opens up his record bag.
Golden oldie: The Roosterz — "All Alone" (Nippon Columbia): By a Japanese band from the 1980s. A song which takes away a long day's worth of fatigue. New classic: The Barking Dogs vs. Jessie Evans — "Scientist of Love" (Mad On the Moon): The Barking Dogs are a disco-loving duo, riding the Milano disco wave. The guys are pretty much my second family. Floor filler: Asymmedley — "Akashic Rain" (Altzmusica): This is some beautiful rain music! The kind of tune that almost makes you a rainy-day type of person. Must listen: Shota Sakamoto — "Piman #2" (Altzmusica): Two words: "pop" and "fantasy."
