Now you know what to give your Japanese foodie friends for Christmas: Michelin will release a new Japanese-language version of its esteemed guide to restaurants in Kanto ("Tokyo Yokohama Shonan") on Dec. 1.

This is the third Japanese-language Michelin guide released this year, with its "Hokkaido" 2012 edition out in April and the 2013 guide to Kansai ("Kyoto Osaka Kobe Nara") following last month; Hiroshima will get its own book for the first time sometime in 2013. English-language versions of the Kanto and Kansai 2013 editions will follow next year.
