Director: Tomoyuki Takimoto
Based on a popular manga series by Motoro Mase, "Ikigami" depicts a fictitious world where one in every 1,000 people between the ages of 18 and 24 is randomly selected to be killed by the government in an attempt to make the citizens lead productive lives. It doesn't make much sense, but the film follows the last hours of the chosen people (you might cry) and Fujimoto (Shota Matsuda), whose job is to inform people 24 hours prior to their death. A mildly entertaining movie peppered with a little suspense.
