Jack Black and Kyle Gass team up in this comedy about two rockers — JB and KB — who form a band named "Tenacious D" and set off on a quest for a legendary guitar pick that, according to rumor, is made from a chip off one of Satan's teeth and grants the user the power to transform his band into the world's best. In his usual mode — jolly, lunatic and roguish — Black's spirit saves this otherwise messy movie, which is aimed at teenagers. There are many celebrity cameos, including Meat Loaf as JB's bible-bashing dad.
