Azur et Asmar
"Azur et Asmar" (c)2006 Nord-Ouest Production - Mac Guff Ligne - Studio O - France 3 Cinema - Rhone-Alpes Cinema - Artemis Production - Zahorimedia - Intuitions Films - Lucky Red

The latest feature by Michel Ocelot ("Kirikou") is a fantasy animation about two young men — the European Azur and Arabian Asmar — who grow up together but are later separated. When Azur becomes a young adult, he sets off on a quest to find the Fairy Djinn, a character from his nanny's bedtime stories. During the quest, Azur travels to Africa, where he meets again with Asmar. Discovering that they are both looking for the fairy, Azur and Asmar become rivals. Ornately and vividly illustrated, the simple and predictable story preaches about the importance of peace.
