Rocky BalboaBy MIZUHO AOKI
Director: Sylvester Stallone
The aged Rocky comes back to the ring, again. Inspired by Stallone's droopy eyes and melancholic mood, the first two thirds of the latest installment of the franchise is drowsy: Retired and widowed, Rocky goes to Adrian's grave, tells old boxing stories to his restaurant's customers, revisits sentimental places, etc. The action finally kicks off when he is offered to fight in an exhibition match with the reigning world heavyweight champ. Thereafter his familiar training routine begins — drinking raw eggs, running and punching carcasses. Sixty-year-old Stallone's trained body is in fine shape, but the circuitous veins traversing his shoulders are a bit spooky to behold. |
