Studio Mumbai is known for architecture that uses both traditional crafts as well as modern technology to create buildings designed to be at one with their landscapes. "Praxis" refers to the process of enacting and realizing something — the evolution of an idea into a practice. It also reflects how Jain's studio works: It's a space where the artisans, some of whom have never had formal training, learn from Jain and each other. Materials, sketches and models of the studio's work will be on display; till Sept. 22.

Toto Gallery Ma; (03) 3402 1010; 1-24-3 Minami Aoyama, Minato-ku, Tokyo; Roppongi Station, Tokyo Metro Hibiya and Toei Oedo lines. 11 a.m.-6 p.m. Free admission. Closed Sun. and Mon. www.toto.co.jp/gallerma/ex120712/index_e.htm.
