"Cherry Tree in Morning Sun" (1970) by Meiji Hashimoto

Due to popular demand, the Yamatane Museum of Art has revived its annual sakura-(cherry-blossom) themed exhibition for the first time since its relocation from the famous sakura-viewing spot Chidorigabuchi to Hiroo in 2009.

The exhibition covers the symbolic role of cherry blossom and its importance throughout centuries of Japanese history. Numerous artworks from the museum's collection will be presented, including "Arashiyama no Haru," a painting by Keisen Toyota that is being publicly shown for the first time in 15 years; till May 20.
