The Honolulu Academy of Arts boasts a collection of some 10,000 ukiyo-e (woodblock prints) , around 5,400 of which were donated by the American author James A. Michener.

Celebrating the 250th year since the birth of Hokusai Katsushika, The Museum of Kyoto brings together 170 prints from the Honolulu Academy of Arts for a show spanning the artist's career.

Six sets of ukiyo-e series are being showcased, including his representative work "Thirty-six Views of Mount Fuji"; March 25.
