CEO Cecilio Kwok Pedro
I was raised in a poor family and was the only boy out of my six siblings. Since we were not rich, I learned about the importance of saving money from a young age. By the time I turned 10, I was determined to become a businessman. I remember pretending to do some “business” back then by selling pens to my classmates.
I majored in business management when I was in university. The first company I joined upon graduation was a trading company. However, competition was fierce at the time, and I was sent to a factory. We eventually started manufactured aluminum tubes for toothpaste, but when the manufacturer switched to plastic tubes, the factory went bankrupt because of it.
Building on that experience, I started my own toothpaste company. Until we entered in the market, there was only one kind of toothpaste, but we created many kinds of toothpaste that would cater to the needs of both the young and old.
I grew up watching my mother be kind to people around her. It’s not good to only wish happiness only for yourself. 30% of my employees have some kind of visual or hearing disability. We are employing people who have difficulty getting hired. I am also not making new capital investments since it would mean downsizing. Instead of cutting costs I always want to look out for our employees.
